Real Patients.
Real Stories.

Inspired by my patients’ own sense of self-empowerment, I have embarked on this journey humbled to be such an intimate part of it.

It started off with an image in my mind of my patients laughing belly laughs together in a wonderful image of sisterhood with the stories of their journey that bonded them together.  I had to get them together to celebrate and to support each other.  If these women have shown me strength before I could only imagine what strength in numbers could show me.

"But in the end, I didn’t give them anything…they continued to give to me by allowing me to see first hand their strength and to be inspired by their stories."

The day of the shoot exceeded my expectations. It was amazing to witness each woman completely transformed from sweatpants and bed head to powerful Queens as they went thru an entire Glam Squad with a fashion stylist(Rudy Reed), a makeup artist() a hairstylist(Mr. Red Beard) a photographer (Haley Ballard) and many assistants all tending to each woman with care, precision, and expertise. After a few cups of coffee, they became fierce embodiments of the strength of womanhood embracing their time in front of the camera to show off their fortitude and beauty.

Captivated by their genuine and almost immediate bond, I realized that I didn’t want to end this journey with the photoshoot as being the final touch. I wanted to use this opportunity for each of these women to tell their stories of how they got there and what it meant to them.

Training for many years I have learned masterful techniques to achieve wonderful consistent results. Connecting with patients has always been natural to me. What I did not expect was how happy patients would be throughout the process.  Tears of joy would run down many patients’ cheeks even before the operation as they were overwhelmed with the exhilaration from the prospect of finally making a change to their bodies they had only dreamed of.  I was inspired to see these women give priority to themselves.  This was especially true in the cases of those who were mothers where after years of pregnancy, breastfeeding and child-rearing, a mother often puts everyone else in the family before her own self when prioritizing things to do.  I came up with the idea for the photoshoot as many of my patients were getting boudoir shoots after their surgery. I want to give back to my patients and gift them this photo and glam session.

But in the end, I didn’t give them anything…they continued to give to me by allowing me to see first hand their strength and to be inspired by their stories.

I saw a quote from a model on Instagram @alesxis  “lingerie is not about seducing men but embracing womanhood” That’s what all of my patients have done, from their decision to make a change for themselves with surgery to their participation in this very special event.
